About the Speaker:

Honor Morris, Media Relations Manager, has spent much of her professional life in front of the microphone. A skilled host and media presenter, Honor has an award-winning background in broadcast journalism through the CBC and BBC. She has worked as an international correspondent for both organizations, covering a variety of news and sports events for a global radio audience. Honor has provided commentary on the World Cup of soccer; the Bali and London terrorist bombings; the Robert Pickton murder trial; and most recently, the 2011 London riots. An experienced program and documentary maker, Honor secured two UK Sony awards, the Oscars of the UK radio industry, for her ground-breaking research work on “Wartime Kent”, a leading historical documentary series for BBC radio.

Honor has worked extensively in both the public and private sector and has created strategic training workshops for entrepreneurs seeking venture capital financing at North America’s first Plant Biotechnologies Conference. She also developed bootcamp-style seminars on effective presentation techniques for C-level executives at all of the First Tuesday/First Forward business matchmaking events, and worked as a senior presentation judge for the prestigious ‘Enterprize Canada Business Plan Competition’.

A keen advocate of knowledge-sharing, much of Honor’s work now involves developing client-focused presentations and communications pieces that are designed to resonate with the target audience. A published author of case studies and academic papers, Honor is currently entrusted with building the global reputation and brand of Kasian, one of Canada’s largest architecture, interior design and planning firms.
